A Fever is an abnormal rise in the temperature of the body. High fever is often a symptom of an infection or disease. Fever temperature is temperature above the normal body temperature of 98.6°F although normal body temperature may be slightly lower in the morning or slightly higher later in the day. Fever symptoms can include irritability, drowsiness, stiff arms, legs or neck pain. Contact your doctor or health care professional if your child under the age of three months has a high fever temperature above 100.4° Fahrenheit.
